Shrek the Halls

Wednesday Nov. 28th at 8/7c "Shrek the Halls" don't forget!!!!!

The half-hour tv show will feature Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas reprising their roles from the theatrical feature films. Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment, said "Family classics are a cornerstone of our brand, and Shrek The Halls will provide warm memories year-after-year, and be a great addition to our library of holiday favorites such as Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and A Charlie Brown Christmas". Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, added "The time has come to celebrate the joys of the holiday season with Shrek and his family, and see how Christmas would play out in his world.

Shrek the Halls follows a natural storytelling path for us, and we're so happy to be partnered with ABC in expanding the world of Shrek into the television arena". The special will be directed by Gary Trousdale (Beauty and the Beast) and produced by Teresa Cheng (Madagascar) and Gina Shay (The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie).

Shrek Goes Fourth (Shrek 4)

Dreamworks is testing the audience on how far they can push Shrek. There is supposed to be around 5 Shreks according to Dreamworks. The story was created in depth for a 5 part series. The next Shrek is called Shrek Goes Fourth and it is directed by Mike Mitchell. The film is in pre-production and is scheduled to be released in 2010!

The full cast is back Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas and Mike Myers thank heavens. With out them it wouldn't be the same. I will try to do some more research on Shrek, but until then keep an eye out for Shrek the Third.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

There isn't a plot of the story that George Lucas has revealed yet so the anticipation of the plot still exhilarating. I am very excited that George Lucas decided to revisit the Trilogy to add another to the mix. I am still upset that Sean wasn't able to come back but I do respect his decision to stay retired. Daddy and Ammon dreaming together!

This was the attempt of my wonderful and whimsical wife trying to record me snoring. First I need to say that I do not snore, and secondly if I do it is only because I am extremely exhausted! Thank goodness that she didn't know how to properly handle a camera recording aspect of the device. But she did manage to take my son and I sleeping together. Can you see the resemblance between the handsome looks?

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Director Rob Cohen is making the Mummy 3. In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago. I just stumbled across this site on how Rob is created the movie and kind of doing a day to day documentary of the film "on location". The Mummy 3 and also just to note Digital Domain is doing the visual effects of the film. This is the same company that did 1/4 of the effects on transformers.

While I was traveling to Channel 8 I was listening to a program on news radio about this guy who read over 600 dictionaries to find the funniest, weirdest words he can find. I was thinking the same thing..."Does this guy have a life?" Well some of the words that he came across was just fascinating.

He gets these words from every culture and region all around the world. I placed him in my books links and also my other blogs. Check him out if you have time.here is his blog where he talks about the words that he has found and also his book that he has published.

Beowulf...

Ever since I purchase a 1913 version of beowulf, I was waiting for somebody (a decent director) to make a film of it. And finally it has arrived. Robert Zemeckis has done such films as Monster House, What Lies beneath and Death Becomes Her just to name a few. I am really excited to see the film. Check out the website it is fantastic!

Halloween 07 Princesses

Both had a blast on Halloween night. We did the trunk-or-treating at the Palo Verde Chapel. And then we went to Aunt Deb's house to see her and show off our beautiful Princesses. And then we headed over to Mike's house (Mike Conrad) and he set up a small haunted house deal and scared the girls. They wouldn't stop crying, they wanted to go home, NOW! While Mike carried Auri into the van she claimed that Mike will never marry her! (Where that came from I don't know?!?) We had a blast that night. We are so glad that we have such wonderful friends and family that can keep our fun clean and memorable.

Aunt Debbie and Ammon Nathan

We have been trying to see Aunt Debbie every Sunday but sometimes that doesn't happen as we would like. But here are some pictures of Aunt Debbie who on the Petty side of the family was first to hold Ammon. All he did was cry the hold time (messy britches!) but Debbie didn't take it to heart. We love you Aunt Deb!

Transformers, More Than Meets the Eye!

If you have not seen this movie. Do your soul and imagination a favor and watch this film. I was very impressed with it / especially with the visual effects. My professors have told me that they have to much detail. I am sorry but you can never have enough detail to make it surreal. The plot of the story was amaz-a-zing. The actors and actresses where very well played. It did take a while for the transformers to come into the movie, but you did have set up the scene for the main focal point. And another thing that was fantastic was that they had the original voice from the TV-series in the film, Peter Cullen.

I was never a die-hard Transformer fan but if they where to do the film like the TV-series they would have to do it old-school way of animation and you would never see the film. Fans of Transformers wake up, we are in the 21st Century. CG is the way of Film, hence they had to make a modern version of Transformers but still keep the original feel of the picture.

And I am extremely glad that "Bubblebee" was not a Volkswagen bug. Michael Bay did a fantastic job with the direction that he did want. And of course ILM out did themselves once again. Michael Bay's Digital Domain did a fantastic job also, I never knew that they ever existed! After seeing this movie I know them now. Check them out if you have a chance.

I will not spoil the movie for you but he does get the girl, and I didn't know that Megatron was Optimus Prime's brother! When is the Sequel coming!?!

Aurianna and Aniston @ the Pumpkin Patch

Here are some of the moments captured while we were at the Pumpkin Patch by Sunset Station Casino. We did have a blast while we were there. Aniston went on the swing and Aurianna loved the Ballon slide. We took a small ride on the train around the patch and took some pictures of the family. We went for family home evening and so did a lot of other LDS couples in the surrounding areas. It was great to take the girls out. It is almost tradition since we did it almost 2 years in a row.

Night out with the Wife...

We went to the Bill Engvall show at the Green Valley Ranch Station, Grand Events Center 10/20. With all of the stress, depression and worries that my wife and I are going through we needed some laughs. Who better to apply to our needs then Bill. We had a blast at the show. He is so better live and we especially loved how he placed his wife on a pedestal and talked about family life, and of course stupid people. He also talked about the Blue Collar Comedy Crew and that they are launching a website, I will leave it at that. Check it out

KLAS-TV Channel 8...

    Before the semester started on the first week of October I started an Internship with Channel 8 News. Not knowing what I was getting myself into, I pushed myself out of my very tiny comfort zone and emailed "HR" Bill Thomas a few days after Ammon was born. After a day or so I didn't get any reply so I emailed again and that same day he emailed me back, wanting to contact me asap. I called Bill up and he gave me the Art Director of Channel 8, Jared Kline's number and told me that he was waiting for my call.
    Well I called and I came in on Sept 25th and he ripped my portfolio in eighths and even more finer eighths! Lets just say my portfolio was not all that impressive to him. He gave me a lot of advise on how to present and also what to place in a broadcast portfolio. The Long and short of it he placed me under his wing and helped me out tremendously.

    I am currently in the "Graphic Design" area. I wish that I could do the motion graphics part but I can not be picky at this moment in time. I am doing OTS (over the shoulder) graphics and also the graphics that are on the monitors behind the news anchors. I learning a lot from Jared and also the two people that are helping me out on a steady bases, ( Ruel and Lois).
    I am grateful for this opportunity to work for the first in HD broadcasting in the valley. I really don't think I will land a job but I am not really focused on that. I am just trying to soak everything in so that I can better my critical eye, technique, professionalism and talent.

The Creativity of Aniston Love Petty

This is a normal occurrence for Shannon and I to see our daughter do this. When we don't hear anything for about an hour or so we figure that our daughter is up to something that we don't approve of. And more than a few occasions we find something similar to this. She is our artistic and creative child that likes to be organized and likes to create things.

When looked closer to the pictures you can see that all of the forks are in one spot all of the spoons, knives, plates, bowls, cups, cans are all in their individual groups. All I thought of when I seen this was, "she is good, she is real good!"


One of these days I will take some pictures of when she places the books or DVDs all over the floor. It is truly amazing sight to see. Remind you she is only 2 years old. I might be boasting about my daughter but she is one amazing girl.

Aurianna Oct of '07

Aurianna Mauree Petty self portrait. Where has the time been when you can remember when she was just a little 7.9 lbs and 20 something inches long. She has been such a sweetheart to her little sister and baby brother. Setting the example we know that are children can look up to her (not literally) for making the right choices and what a righteous daughter of God should be (and for Ammon what he should look for in a future eternal companion).


She is our hobbit in the family. Actually I think all of our kids are hobbits. If have only seen their feet you will see why we call them this. Plus they are very playful and everything that Hobbits are. Those are our kids. Auri is in her last year in Pre-School and is doing great. Shannon has been keeping all of her work that she has done and we can see a very big improvement from when she has started. We love you Auri and keep up the great work in Pre-School!

Aurianna and Aniston making their Bed?!??

Shannon wanted them to learn how to read in a fun way so she took pictures of them making their bed. She plans on making a book for both of them.

I placed these up here because I thought that it was hilarious the way they are goin about making the bed. They stand on top of the covers while trying to pull the covers up. It is just more enjoyable in person to witness this event. We love them anyways... only because they are a split image of both of Shannon and I combined!

Historical Event: ...Ammon Nathan Petty SMILES!

First we need to explain what we have been seeing for the past 3 and a half weeks.





Ammon is such a blessing to us. We were trying very hard to get him to smile and he finally couldn't resist. the most two goofiest looking people in world just making odd noises and getting in his face just to get him to smile, he finally cracked. After everything he went through he finally over sees the pain and sees something worth smiling over. His sisters can not get enough of him, especially when he looks this handsome (like his father, and grandpa's).
