Finally a Petty Update....

Do to the recent recession that we are in, we decided to limit our posts to "ZERO" since January. We feel that it is ok now to do some posts that are desperately in need of posting. There has been a lot that happen to our little family in the past 6 months. We will start with Jesse.
Jesse is still working for Timet and working very hard. He has gone through a lot of changes there, he was a leadman (supervisor) but due to the current lay-offs they took away that position and placed him in a lower position in his department. He is still going to the Art Institute of Las Vegas for the 4th year in a row...AHHHHHHHHH! He is going to graduate in march of 2010 crossing our fingers if work doesn't screw us over again. Jesse finished our back patio a few weeks ago with cobblestone. It looks fantastic!! He also finished building a planter for a garden which will be planted very soon as well.
Next is Shannon, Shannon is still a stay-home-hottie mommy. Making the home a safe haven and helping the kids grow in the gospel and in school every day. Currently she still has braces in preparation for a jaw surgery that will happen soon. No luck with the health insurance to help pay for it so we have to see what the doctors and hospital will do for our situation.
Next is Aurianna. Auri is 6 years old and finished Kindergarden..Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! She loves to read fancy nancy books and any other book with words. She loves to read the Book of Mormon at night we it is time to read scriptures. She is learning quickly and all of us are very proud of her in all that she has achieved. Auri and Ani did swimming lessons with a wonderful lady in our ward Sister Michelle Oehler. Auri is still a big help around the house helping out everybody. Losing a lot of teeth her adult teeth are coming in and she still looks beautiful.
Ani would be next in line. Aniston is 4 years old and I think the terrible fours is among us. She is still acting silly and wants a laugh in all that she does. Attention is her middle name and our family wouldn't be complete with out her. Ani is Auri's best friend and they do everything together. Ani loves her new bunkbed and also her barbies. She still loves watching movies and does not like very much meat, not a petty gene nor a mangum gene.
Ammon is 1.5 years old and is very much a cuddly boy who loves to be hugged, kissed, roughed up a little bit, electronics, computers, the wii, video games, getting dirty with daddy, dancing and pulling his sisters hair as much as possible. He is very animated in his facial expressions. He has been the most difficult part of the family, demanding things that we really don't know what he wants, he only says "auhh" or "duah" please let us know what he means by this because we don't.
Well in a nut shell that is about it for our family. We will post a bunch of pictures and videos for your viewing plessure!

COUPONS 4 LIFE!!!!

This is was the first time that Shannon went grocery shopping with coupons totaling over $100 dollars in savings. Instead of paying $210 dollars at the grocery store she only paid $92 dollars. Recently Shannon started this coupon deal where we get the RJ delivered to us on sunday (5 papers) and we store up the coupons. And we wait until certain items that we want go on sell then we get the store coupons out and manufacture coupons out and we pull a triple savings at the store. And it worked out very nicely. We usually pay around $300 on groceries bi-weekly and here we spent only $92. We are excited!!

The Tramp scene!!!!

We finally bought a trampoline this year for the kids because the dirt in our backyard can only bring so much fun and imagination to the mind that our kids started to go crazy on us. So we decided to put the hundred plastic balls in the trampoline to have a little bit of fun. And ohhh we did.

Molluscum Contagiosum

I just got back from taking Auri from the doctors to check on her wart like things on her bum. They are continuously getting worse and multiplying! The doctor diagnosed her with Molluscum Contagiosum. It is highly contagious and is pretty painful. According to the doctor there is no cure. They can burn them, freeze them or cut them off...YA RIGHT! Not on my 5 year old. So I did some studying on it and found some medicine called SilverCure, which I will be trying! It is supposed to get rid of them within 3 weeks (if done properly.) I just wanted to let everyone know and maybe check your kids for any multiplying wart lookin things. I will be studying this futher so that I can better understand this.
Love you all
Shannon

Valentine's Day surprise for my Wife

They do look bigger than this picture shows. I feel really bad for doing this but I sent the roses anyways. I have not given my wife flowers or roses ever since we said "I do" so I figure that the time was well over due and here they are! And yes these are a dozen Red Roses! Beautiful just like my wife!

Time for a new Semester...And a NEW Year!

I am not all that glad to be going back to school. The vacation has been to nice to stop now. But it is going to be interesting this semester since I am also creating a "flash" website for my sister-in-law Jennifer. It will be a photography website coming soon to www.koubakreations.com so keep a look out for it. Also I will be creating also in the near future "flash" games for kids and also some church activities to learn more of the gospel in a fun way. We will see what happens.

We have endured a sickness holiday season but slowly getting over them. Aurianna has started to go to CTR 6 and Aniston has graduated from Nursery to "SUNBEAMS". She has been singing "Jesus wants me for a sun....BEAM" every since we have been home from church. Aniston loves to practice her letters and Aurianna loves to hold her brother. Ammon loves to much to be held...spoiled brat! I wish that I was hold as much as Ammon has.

Timet has been good so far. I have lasted a full year in Chlorination. I do have some interesting stories about getting gased and fighting of TiCl4 clouds. There is a Target center going up in front of Timet so we had to have some HAZMAT training for natural and human disasters if they would happen here in Timet, that was interesting as well.

We are still trying to get a house. After many, many months of going through FHA we are really seeing better deals popping up in Henderson. We are working with the under writer right now for the pre-approval. We already know what we are pre-approved for but it isn't official yet. So we will keep it posted on where we are at so that we can invite the whole world over to celebrate our new accomplishment in life.

I do hope to get another internship somewhere but when I really don't know. I have placed some communications towards some interest towards some Short Films that are going to be filming in the valley for the next 3 to 4 months. But I haven't received any responses yet but who knows in the next 2 weeks.

I have place a new feature in the blog..."Special Events" is where I will be placing anniversary's and birthday's for the month. Aurianna is pulling my hair and Aniston is hitting me in my arm. I think I better stop before Auri makes me bold and Ani bruises my arm to a purple and blue dismantled arm.

Internship Over...

After completing 108 hours my internship is over. It was a huge learning experience for me. I loved every minute of it. Jared Klein the Art Director loved my work but of course he did have more to criticize towards but luckily in a positive way. Learning new software and dealing with Mac's, the tablet and also the software I-news, graphics converter along with learning the HD format for broadcast video. I am very grateful for the time and the experiences that I have learned there. I am finding out about myself that my drive is stronger than I thought. Hopefully that my drive towards a real career in visual effects and also film will get me to where I want to go.

Of course I will miss my news anchors in the hall ways. Paula Francis was such a hottie(If I was single I would so take her out on a date), even though she is as old as my parents. Gary and Dave I am very glad that you said Hi to me and smiled, not everybody can say that. And Charlotte Evans I will never forget how you waited for me at the door to get into the building. Your smile and kind gestures towards me I will never forget. I am pretty sure that you winked at me, but I won't tell nobody.

This is the outside of the card

Mark Truman wanted a "Grinch stole Christmas" Christmas card with his staff as the who's and Mark as the Grinch. And this is what I came up with. I added an additional file for him for laughs making his staff just look funny. And of course he did love it. Here is his website

Below are two of the many pictures that I gave Mark as an added bonus for giving me some freelance work. I manepulated his staff's pictures using only the staffs face and body parts in different areas and different looks. Enjoy!!

KLAS-TV Channel 8...

Before the semester started on the first week of October I started an Internship with Channel 8 News. Not knowing what I was getting myself into, I pushed myself out of my very tiny comfort zone and emailed "HR" Bill Thomas a few days after Ammon was born. After a day or so I didn't get any reply so I emailed again and that same day he emailed me back, wanting to contact me asap. I called Bill up and he gave me the Art Director of Channel 8, Jared Kline's number and told me that he was waiting for my call.
Well I called and I came in on Sept 25th and he ripped my portfolio in eighths and even more finer eighths! Lets just say my portfolio was not all that impressive to him. He gave me a lot of advise on how to present and also what to place in a broadcast portfolio. The Long and short of it he placed me under his wing and helped me out tremendously.

I am currently in the "Graphic Design" area. I wish that I could do the motion graphics part but I can not be picky at this moment in time. I am doing OTS (over the shoulder) graphics and also the graphics that are on the monitors behind the news anchors. I learning a lot from Jared and also the two people that are helping me out on a steady bases, ( Ruel and Lois).
I am grateful for this opportunity to work for the first in HD broadcasting in the valley. I really don't think I will land a job but I am not really focused on that. I am just trying to soak everything in so that I can better my critical eye, technique, professionalism and talent.
